Job summary

Genies is seeking a contract Lead Full Stack Engineer to guide architectural direction and ship complex, user-facing systems at the intersection of AI, game tech, and UGC tools. You’ll mentor engineers, write real code, and drive standards across frontend and backend.

You’ll work closely with product managers and designers, delivering scalable solutions in React, Next.js, TypeScript, Node.js, Go, and Python. Hybrid in-office schedule is expected.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional full stack development, with 2+ years in leadership.
• Bachelor’s degree in CS or equivalent.
• Proven ability to design and scale distributed, high-performance web apps.
• Expertise with React, TypeScript/JavaScript, Node.js, Next.js.
• Strong frontend sensibility for usable UI and design patterns.
• Backend experience in Go or Python.
• Fluency with NoSQL and relational databases.
• Experience building RESTful and GraphQL APIs; event-driven architectures.
• Knowledge of data pipelines and ETL patterns.
• Security fundamentals: OWASP Top Ten, OAuth 2.0.
• AWS and CI/CD pipelines experience.
• AI workflow maturity in using AI tools to improve output.
• Strong communication, leadership, and mentorship.

Responsibilities

• Define and own architectural vision for full-stack systems.
• Mentor a growing team; provide code reviews and feedback.
• Contribute to codebase with React/Next.js/TypeScript and Go/Python services.
• Collaborate with product and design to translate goals into tech tasks.
• Identify risks, scalability needs, and architectural tradeoffs.
