Job summary

Alertus in Baltimore is seeking a Lead Frontend Engineer to be the primary architect of our web and mobile experiences. You will balance strategy with hands-on execution, set the UI gold standard, and mentor the software team while advocating for the end-user.

Based in our Baltimore office, you will bridge UX design and technical feasibility, ensure WCAG-compliant interfaces, and lead cross-functional efforts to deliver inclusive, performant applications across platforms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS/CE or related field.
• Minimum 8 years of related frontend experience.
• Experience leading frontend teams and shipping Flutter apps.
• Strong WCAG accessibility expertise and inclusive UX.
• Experience deploying to iOS and Android platforms.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of web and mobile ecosystems using Flutter.
• Direct the implementation of WCAG-compliant interfaces for accessibility.
• Establish robust client-side telemetry and performance visibility.
• Oversee mobile releases to the App Store and Google Play Store.
• Mentor the software team and establish best practices for maintainable code.
• Collaborate with product and design to translate requirements into UI.
