Dice is currently partnering with a tech startup company to assist in hiring a Lead Frontend Engineer on a 6-9 month contract-to-hire basis. This opportunity can be performed remotely from anywhere in the U.S.

Title: Lead Frontend Engineer

Location: Telecommute / Remote

Overview:

We’re seeking a Lead Frontend Engineer with both the technical chops and product vision to lead the architecture and implementation of the company’s web application. You will own the frontend experience and help define what great enterprise UX really looks like.

What You’ll Do:

• Architect, build, and iterate on responsive, scalable web interfaces.
• Translate user journeys into polished wireframes, mockups, and final UI.
• Own the frontend system from design through implementation, ensuring performance and best practices.
• Collaborate with backend engineers and product designers to bring features to life.
• Develop custom, reusable components and implement pseudo-gamified UX ideas.
• Optimize apps for responsiveness, accessibility, and performance.
• Set and uphold standards for code quality, testing, and maintainability.

Qualifications:

• 5–7+ years building modern, performant web applications.
• Strong leadership and autonomy—you’re used to owning architecture and guiding decisions.
• Deep expertise in TypeScript, React, and frontend architecture best practices.
• Experience designing UX from scratch or based on loose user journeys.
• Familiarity with design systems, accessibility, and edge case handling.
• Comfort working in fast-moving, startup-style environments with evolving goals.
• Testing knowledge using tools like Jest, Cypress, Playwright, or Faker.js.
• Strong Git skills and experience working in distributed teams.
• Frontend: React, HTML5, CSS/SCSS
• Infrastructure: AWS, Docker
• Tooling: Modern testing libraries and component-driven development workflows
