We’re looking for a Lead Front-End Engineer to lead the development of our cross-platform mobile app using React Native . This is a part-time, hands-on role where you’ll shape the way users experience Plurawl — an AI-powered self-discovery app that helps people stop spiraling and gain clarity.

About Plurawl

Plurawl (Techstars 2025) is on a mission to change how people access mental health support— globally . We built an app that uses AI to help people stop jumping to conclusions , process their thoughts, and find clarity in moments of anxiety, overthinking, and self-doubt.

In a world where 80% of our thoughts are negative and 95% are repetitive, Plurawl offers a simple, safe space to break that cycle. And it's working— with over 1K users, our users spend an average of one hour per session , with many making Plurawl part of their weekly routine . We’re already seeing real impact: helping people manage anxiety, overcome substance abuse, and even navigate self-harming ideations.

What You’ll Do

• Build Our Mobile App : Lead front-end development using React Native across iOS and Android.
• Create Emotionally-Intuitive UX : Craft fluid, engaging UI with a focus on user experience, animations, and accessibility.
• Support A/B Testing & Experimentation : Implement UI-level experiments to improve onboarding, engagement loops, and habit formation.
• Own Mobile Deployments : Manage the app store release process (iOS & Android), including versioning, submissions, and post-launch issue resolution.
• Ensure Stability with Testing : Write and maintain unit and integration tests using tools like Jest and React Native Testing Library.
• Collaborate Across Functions : Work with the CEO, Product Lead, and Fractional CTO to align execution with product goals and user needs.
• Leverage AI Dev Tools : Use tools like GitHub Copilot, Cursor, and others to move quickly without sacrificing quality.

What You Bring

• Advanced experience with React Native (iOS + Android)
• Proficiency with TypeScript , modern state management (Context, Redux, Zustand), and REST API integration
• An eye for design systems, layout, performance, and motion
• Familiarity with mobile deployment pipelines (App Store / Play Store)
• Strong understanding of testing best practices and quality assurance
• Comfort using AI-assisted tools to streamline development
• A builder’s mindset — willing to experiment, move fast, and iterate
• Deep interest in mental health, behavior change, or creating emotionally impactful products
