Responsibilities

Practice Fusion is hiring a talented front-end engineer who is passionate about creating life-saving technologies for doctors and patients. Our cloud-based EHR client is an ambitious Ember app used by tens of thousands of health providers daily, supported by a custom component library add-on and an ember-cli build system. You will be responsible for delivering robust production code across our front-end technology set and building functional, responsive, and user-friendly interfaces.

Your key responsibilities include:

• Employing technical and thought leadership to drive products from inception to release
• Collaborating with stakeholders to meet business needs
• Balancing engineering costs of development, testing, deployment, and runtime to deliver value
• Working with developers, testers, designers, and product managers to iterate on features
• Designing, developing, testing, and maintaining our Ember applications and add-ons
• Writing high-quality, well-tested, maintainable code following best practices
• Delivering in an agile, scrum environment and acting as rotating scrum master
• Monitoring and fixing performance and security issues
• Proposing process improvements to enhance team productivity
• Staying current with development best practices and sharing findings

Experience

• Minimum 10+ years of product development experience
• At least 5 years in a senior role
• Experience building scalable consumer-facing web applications
• Proficiency with modern JavaScript frameworks (preferably Ember.js, React, Angular)
• Experience consuming and building RESTful APIs
• Strong skills in responsive HTML/CSS and web technologies
• Understanding of object-oriented programming
• Advocacy for front-end testing and test-driven development
• Expertise in web security and performance optimization
• Excellent communication skills and experience working in an agile environment
