Job summary

Long Finch Technologies is seeking an accomplished Senior Front-end Engineer to lead the development of rich, user-facing web apps using React + TypeScript. You will own the front-end architecture, collaborate with UX/Product, and define coding standards.

The role emphasizes performance, accessibility, secure client-side patterns, and close cooperation with backend teams on API contracts. Experience with modern tooling and AI-assisted coding is required.

Qualifications

• 10+ years professional software engineering with front-end depth and leadership.
• Expert-level React proficiency with hooks, composition, and context.
• Strong TypeScript skills and modern JavaScript fundamentals.
• Experience with Vite/Webpack, Babel/SWC, npm/pnpm/yarn and pipelines.
• Strong CSS skills including responsive design and theming at scale.
• Advanced testing with Jest/Vitest, RTL, Playwright/Cypress; test ownership.
• Accessibility WCAG/ARIA, keyboard navigation, a11y testing.
• Performance engineering: profiling, bundle splitting, CWA optimization.
• GraphQL/REST API integration; client state management & caching.
• Security: XSS/CSRF prevention, secure auth patterns (OIDC aware).
• Observability: client logging, metrics, error reporting, debugging prod issues.
• Must: proficiency with AI-assisted tools (Claude Code, GitHub Copilot).

Responsibilities

• Lead development of complex React + TypeScript front-ends, owning architecture.
• Collaborate with UX/Product to translate designs; balance feasibility and performance.
• Define and evolve front-end standards: components, state, routing, testing.
• Build on EXDS UI foundations: design system, theming, cross-browser compatibility.
• Drive Core Web Vitals, bundle optimization, rendering strategies, caching.
• Implement rich UI features: data visualization, real-time updates, offline patterns.
• Ensure secure client-side patterns: token handling, storage, vulnerability protection.
• Partner with backend on API contracts; promote front-end friendly patterns.
