Job summary

Gen's Forward Deployed Engineering team is seeking a player-coach to lead the next phase: establishing repeatable delivery standards, governing AI-native engineering practices, owning high-stakes partner engagements, and partnering with Product and Engineering.

This role blends team leadership with hands-on engineering: shape strategy, drive key integrations across verticals, and mentor engineers while collaborating with partner teams and Solutions Engineering.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in integration or forward-deployed engineering, with leadership.
• Production-quality coding in Scala and/or Python; API experience.
• Deep REST/JSON API expertise including auth and versioning.
• Experience building reusable architecture and automation.
• Familiar with AI-native tooling and safe production use.

Responsibilities

• Own technical strategy for demand-side delivery across the partner portfolio.
• Develop SOPs and delivery practices to accelerate the team.
• Lead the most complex, new-vertical integrations end to end.
• Turn bespoke builds into reusable modules and runbooks.
• Architect AI-native engineering practices and automation pipelines.
• Mentor engineers through design and code reviews.
• Drive structured product/engineering feedback loops.
• Lead technical working sessions with partner teams.
