Job summary

Altasciences is seeking a hands-on Supervisor, Formulations to oversee dose formulation and test material management in a fast-paced CRO environment. You will mentor staff and help set up a new laboratory, while developing and maintaining SOPs to ensure GLP compliance.

The role requires 2–3 years of formulations experience, a related scientific degree, and CRO experience preferred. Strong collaboration and communication skills are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or related scientific discipline.
• 2–3 years hands-on formulations experience required.
• Experience in a CRO environment preferred.
• Experience training, mentoring, or leading laboratory personnel.
• Experience developing, reviewing, and updating SOPs and lab documentation.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily dose formulation and test material management activities in support of preclinical research.
• Prepare and oversee preparation of test article formulations, vehicle formulations, and chemical solutions per study protocols.
• Assist with setup and expansion of a new laboratory, including workflows and equipment organization.
• Develop, review, update, and maintain SOPs to support lab operations and regulatory compliance.
• Train and mentor Formulations staff and lab personnel.
• Manage receipt, inventory, storage, retention, and disposition of test materials.
• Support DFA activities and ensure accurate documentation and sample tracking.
• Collaborate with Study Directors and cross-functional teams to meet study timelines.
