Qualifications

• Graduation from High School or Vocational School or possession of an approved High School Equivalent Certificate.
• One year of experience in general unskilled kitchen or food service work.
• ServSafe Certified and have a valid Food Handlers certificate.
• Driver's license valid in New Jersey if vehicle operation is necessary.

Responsibilities

• Acts as a general assistant in a kitchen, bakery, cannery, dining room, cafeteria, or other food preparation or service unit.
• Serves special diets according to prescribed portion control guide set by Dietitian.
• Washes, scrubs, pares, hulls, cores, and prepares vegetables, fruits, and berries for cooking or serving.
• Assists in the cutting of meat and in baking.
• Keeps the kitchen and related areas clean, safe, and orderly; cleans refrigerators.
• Delivers food to dining rooms and may assign staff in delivery.
