Job summary

Butterball, LLC seeks a Production Supervisor to guide day-to-day operations at our Mount Olive, NC facility. You will drive safety, quality, and efficiency, implementing continuous improvement with BOSS and lean practices while ensuring USDA/HACCP compliance and effective team leadership.

You will lead and coach a team, manage staffing and performance, and collaborate with support functions to optimize yields, line speeds, and costs in a high-volume meat production environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• 5+ years of relevant experience or the knowledge, skills, and abilities to succeed in the role.
• 2+ years of leadership experience or the knowledge, skills, and abilities to succeed in the role.

Responsibilities

• Supervises the day-to-day activities of a team of entry level individual contributors and/or supervisors. Provides guidance, coaching, and support to ensure successful delivery of team goals. Participates in HR activities such as hiring, terminations, performance management, goal setting, team member development, scheduling, etc. Enforces and contributes to the development of systems, policies, and procedures.
• Ensures team understands and follows all safety policies and procedures. Conducts routine safety and quality audits providing on-the-floor coaching as needed.
• Serves as a role model and ensures team’s understanding of, and compliance, with all company policies and regulatory guidelines (including USDA, OSHA, DOL, EEOC, HACCP etc.).
• Accountable for team’s adherence to manufacturing protocols, product specifications, quality guidelines.
• Promotes process improvement and lean manufacturing activities by working with supporting functions to implement change. Responsible for operation layout, automation improvements, budgeting, and cost improvements.
• Ensures effective use of labor, tools, supplies, and equipment to maximize efficiency and capacity.
• Conducts routine scanning of department to identify and solve problems (e.g. equipment operations, processes, etc.). Oversees training and development.
• Monitors key performance indicators including safety, efficiency, waste, downtime, labor costs, and industrial accidents. Responsible for identifying and resolving gaps in efficiency and quality.
• Directs HACCP plan to achieve USDA requirements and guides in bird related issues.
• Develops, oversees, and executes departmental project work linked to company goals.
