Job summary

Handsome Brook Farms is seeking a Production Supervisor to oversee production staff, monitor yields, and ensure safety and USDA compliance across the manufacturing process. You will train, coach, and lead the team to meet production, safety and quality goals while driving efficiency.

The ideal candidate has extensive supervisory experience in manufacturing, strong communication skills, and a proven track record of maintaining product quality and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Preferred BS/BA degree in Business Management or related field.
• 8 years Production Supervisory experience in a Manufacturing environment, preferably food manufacturing.
• Experience in leading and following Safety/Security policies and procedures.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
• Excellent verbal/written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Performs daily floor walks and visual inspections to identify unsafe acts or conditions and takes corrective action.
• Maintains safety/environmental self-audits and visual checks.
• Champions safety and ergonomic activities and helps meet plant safety goals.
• Maintain product quality and safety; ensure staff are trained on Food Safety and Food Quality plans.
• Adheres to GMP, USDA regulations, and SQF audit requirements.
• Inspects product for conformance to specs and directs machine setups/adjustments.
• Trains employees to follow safe operating procedures including lockout/tagout.
• Coordinates production schedules and estimates worker hour requirements.
• Supervise assigned employees in scheduling, discipline, feedback and performance management.
• Ensure PPE usage in production areas.
• Maintain knowledge of products/equipment to guide staff.
