Job summary

Blue Origin LLC is seeking a Sr. Design Reliability Engineer to embed reliability into tooling, GSE, and factory-automation for ground systems. You will work with design and manufacturing teams to identify and eliminate failure modes before they reach the floor.

You will develop standards, guide reliability across projects, and spend substantial time on the floor to observe hardware and close design changes. Travel up to 25% may be required.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, or related engineering field.
• Experience leading FMEA, design reviews, and reliability assessments.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, fluid schematics, and electrical diagrams.
• Strong communication and influencing skills to drive design changes.
• Willingness to travel up to 25% and support off-shift work when needed.

Responsibilities

• Lead FMEA and design reviews on tooling, GSE, and factory-automation projects.
• Define reliability requirements and drive changes with cross-functional teams.
• Dispozition reliability findings through design, build, and early operations.
• Develop reliability standards, guidelines, and procedures for ground systems.
• Support commissioning and early-use stabilization with maintenance plans.
