Job summary

Blue Origin in Merritt Island, FL is seeking an Operations Reliability Engineer to own the operational reliability of assigned manufacturing, test, and ground systems within a focus area such as production or launch operations.

You will analyze downtime, lead root-cause investigations, develop procedures, and work closely with design, manufacturing, GSE, Quality, and Operations to implement durable improvements. Travel up to 25% may be required.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in engineering or related technical field, or equivalent experience.
• 2+ years in manufacturing, test, integration, launch/ground operations, or reliability/maintenance engineering.
• Hands-on experience troubleshooting mechanical, fluids, electrical, or controls systems and driving changes.
• Expert in structured problem-solving and root cause methods and basic data analysis.

Responsibilities

• Own the operational reliability of assigned processes, tooling, and ground systems.
• Analyze downtime, delays, scrubs/rollbacks, rework, and nonconformances to identify high-risk processes.
• Lead or support root cause investigations, from containment to durable fixes and verification.
• Develop and standardize procedures, work instructions, checkouts, and maintenance plans.
