Job summary

Ursa Major is seeking a Lead Manufacturing Mechanical Engineer to lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of custom automated fluid test systems for propulsion manufacturing facilities in Colorado. You will collaborate across Manufacturing, Quality, Safety, Controls, and Design Engineers to create robust, safe fluid systems and fixtures for production.

You will own P&ID development, perform flow and pressure analysis, and provide hands-on build support on the shop floor, including acute

Qualifications

• 5+ years in test system design or related role.
• BS degree or higher in Mechanical, Chemical, or Mechatronic engineering.
• Experience designing automated hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• CAD proficiency and GD&T expertise.
• Knowledge of NFPA, NEC, ASME piping codes.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design of fluid systems, instrumentation layout, and frame design.
• Collaborate with test engineers and product designers to capture requirements.
• Draft system P&ID with I&C engineers.
• Perform flow, pressure, and life-cycle analyses; use FEA as needed.
• Lead design review sessions and ensure stakeholder buy-in.
• Design fixtures in CAD and support on-floor commissioning.
• Maintain safety-first mindset around hazardous fluids up to 15,000 psi.
