About the Role
As aFloor Maintenance Lead, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping the success of our new division. You’ll lead crews on-site, ensuring each project is completed efficiently and up to the high standards our clients have come to expect. This position combines hands-on floor maintenance work with crew oversight, making it ideal for someone who is hands-on, detail oriented, and takes pride in delivering excellence.

Responsibilities:
- Serve as the highest-trained member of the crew, completing necessary training before the launch of new technicians.
- Work a modified schedule to include occasional night work as needed based on job requirements.
- Be physically capable of performing all related tasks.
- Lead and manage a small team, delegating responsibilities while working hands-on alongside technicians.
- Ensure well-rounded expertise in surface maintenance (tile, carpet, resilient flooring) and demonstrate a commitment to the division's growth.
- Execute tasks as scheduled and phased by the Operations Manager (OM), handling complex or high-risk duties and solving on-site issues with minimal OM intervention.
- Communicate with on-site staff and relay relevant information or requests to the OM.
- Act as the primary point of contact for the OM, working closely with management and other team leaders to ensure crew performance and efficiency.
- Assist in evaluating technician performance, identifying areas for professional growth, and recommending additional training or incentives when applicable.
- Provide excellent customer service and act as the on-site coordinator in the absence of the OM, demonstrating professionalism and restraint in challenging situations.
- Maintain crew performance records in collaboration with the OM, stepping in when necessary but not directly responsible for disciplinary actions.
- Foster a safe, procedural, and morale-boosting work environment while maintaining an eye for detail and efficiency.
- Prioritize workplace safety by possessing an OSHA 10-hour certification (training may be provided).
- Ensure equipment is cleaned and maintained, working with the crew to keep operations running smoothly.
- Hold a gas card (if applicable) and follow a daily vehicle checklist for loading/unloading, as well as a weekly condition checklist for vehicle maintenance.
- Maintain a clean driving record and have reliable transportation to and from headquarters.
Qualifications:
- Relevant experience in janitorial or facilities flooring maintenance, with knowledge of relevant equipment and procedures.
- Experience in customer-facing roles within the commercial construction, facilities, or maintenance industries a plus.
- Proven ability to oversee and train small teams.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills with a focus on efficiency and client satisfaction.
- Ability to collaborate across departments and oversee multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
- Highly organized, motivated self-starter with the ability to set and achieve goals.
- Ability to work alone or as part of a team in a fast paced, time sensitive environment.
- Ability to travel to customer sites as needed.
