Job summary

Herc Rentals in Honolulu, HI is seeking a Mechanic A to lead fleet maintenance and share expertise with B and C level technicians. You will own preventive maintenance programs, diagnose engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems, and ensure equipment stays on the rental ready line.

The role requires a high school diploma, 3 years’ heavy equipment repair experience, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds. You’ll work with a team, prepare service reports, and follow safety procedures while

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.
3 years of experience repairing heavy equipment.
Ability to safely lift up to 50 lbs.
Ownership of hand and core automotive tools to complete repairs.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain a consistent preventive maintenance schedule for all Herc-owned fleet at the branch.
Operate and test equipment to ensure it meets Herc Rentals quality standards.
Perform routine maintenance and repairs on fleet equipment and trucks independently.
Diagnose engines, electrical systems, hydraulics, and fuel systems.
Lead major repairs using diagnostic tools and hand/electrical tools.
Enter and review work orders and order parts via the fleet management system.
Train and mentor junior mechanics (B and C levels).
Produce detailed service reports and repair logs.
