Job summary

Whatever It Takes Expeditions is seeking a First Mate for our 100' sailing vessel, operating between Trinidad and St. Maarten. This year-round position offers a salary of $4,000/month plus room and board.

As a First Mate, you will lead daily operations aboard, mentoring high school students on their sailing expeditions. Responsibilities include teaching, supervising, and building teamwork among students while ensuring vessel maintenance and safety.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years as Captain, Master, or Mate of a sailing vessel.
• Knowledge of yacht systems and a passion for mentoring youth.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily, weekly, monthly, and annual maintenance on the vessel.
• Teach coursework and manage student apprentices.
• Lead shore-side activities and supervise students.
