Job summary

Pye-Barker Fire & Safety, LLC seeks a fire sprinkler foreman to oversee installations across residential, commercial, and industrial sites. You will interpret drawings, delegate tasks to fitters and assistants, and ensure the project is completed to spec.

The ideal candidate has knowledge of pipefitting, regulations, and codes, holds a valid driver’s license, and can lead crews, manage paperwork, and maintain tools and the vehicle. Competitive pay and benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of pipefitting, plumbing regulations, and fire protection codes.
• Must hold valid state driver's license with acceptable driving record.
• Ability to display knowledge of fire safety principles and practices.
• Ability to follow codes and regulations related to the work.
• Ability to review official documents for completeness and accuracy.
• Ability to act in a lead capacity.
• Ability to recognize and report deviations through inspection programs.
• Ability to interpret, apply, and explain applicable laws, codes, and regulations.
• Ability to maintain accurate records and reports.
• Ability to understand and follow oral and written directions.
• Ability to use or repair power tools and basic equipment.

Responsibilities

• Fire sprinkler foremen use project drawings to interpret installation requirement details accurately and entirely.
• Delegate appropriate tasks to fitters, mechanics and assistants as needed to fulfill project completion deadlines.
• Install and test installation of fire suppression equipment in new or retrofit construction projects
• Follow designed plans, communicates needed design change to fit actual site requirements
• Be responsible for materials delivered to site and for minor fabrication on job site.
• In charge of updating daily installation progress notes on job contract drawings.
• If a change to the order is necessary, they bring it to the attention of the manager.
• Instruct and train helpers, apprentices, or other personnel in the basic process or service, repair, and/or system installation
• Accurately complete and maintain all paperwork
• Maintain vehicle and tools as per company policy
• Use hand tools, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic power tools
• Perform other duties assigned by management.
