The candidate will lead fire protection design, code interpretation, and client interfacing on high-profile projects. PE licensure and 7–10 years of relevant experience are required.

Qualifications

• 7 to 10 years of relevant post-education experience in engineering discipline and prior fire and life safety design experience.
• Bachelor or Master of Science Degree in Fire Protection Engineering, or related engineering discipline with a P.E. license
• Professional Engineering (PE) license.
• Supervisory experience is highly desirable.
• Experience in fire protection engineering design applications.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Interpret building code, life safety, and fire code requirements (ICC and NFPA, including IBC and NFPA 101).
• Negotiate with authorities having jurisdiction on fire safety designs and proposals.
• Review architectural drawings for compliance with building and fire code requirements.
• Produce fire and life safety strategy documents to inform design throughout the process.
• Design fire protection and life safety systems (sprinklers, detection, alarms, smoke management, egress).
• Commissioning of fire protection and life safety systems in various facilities.
• Interface with clients and organize in-house resources.
• Follow quality control review processes for project documentation.
• Develop project proposals and budgets; conduct financial management.
• Mentor junior staff; prepare technical reports/specifications; participate in department initiatives.
• Contribute to overall business development of the company.
