Job summary

City Fire & Safety is requesting an experienced Fire Alarm Inspector / Service Technician to support Gastonia, NC. This hands-on role requires diagnosing, repairing, and programming fire alarm panels, with a focus on reliability and safety.

You will perform annual inspections, troubleshoot issues, and install systems while maintaining documentation and parts inventory. A valid driver’s license and a high school diploma are required; NICET is preferred.

Qualifications

• Fire alarm programming experience required.
• 5+ years of experience in fire alarm installation, maintenance, or related field.
• Able to pass a drug test.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine maintenance and inspections on fire alarm systems to confirm they operate efficiently.
• Find and fix shorts, ground faults, and wiring issues quickly and correctly.
• Install and program new and existing fire alarm systems.
• Troubleshoot and resolve alarm, supervisory, and trouble conditions.
