Job summary

The Department of Insurance and Financial Institutions seeks a Financial Chief Examiner to lead multi-disciplinary exam teams, set priorities, and ensure examinations of state banks, credit unions, and trust companies meet regulatory standards.

You will coordinate risk assessments, enforce BSA/AML and CAMELS metrics, and develop internal guidelines while mentoring staff. Travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Understanding of state and federal bank, trust and credit union laws, rules, regulations, policies, procedures and best practices
• Knowledge of regulatory accounting practices and examination procedures
• Knowledge of auditing standards and procedures
• Knowledge of supervisory concepts and techniques
• Understanding of financial institutions operations
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities

• Strategic Leadership & Examination Oversight: manage multi-disciplinary teams and set examination priorities
• Risk Assessment & Compliance Verification: ensure adherence to BSA/AML and related laws; CAMELS review
• Examination: oversee licensee examinations, risk assessments, and reporting
• Policy & Staff Management: develop guidelines, mentor staff, and coordinate trainings
