Job summary

The Assistant Chief Financial Examiner directs planning and execution of statutory financial examinations of Arizona domiciled insurance companies and other risk-bearing entities to assess solvency and compliance, in accordance with NAIC standards and Department policies. This position also coordinates with other states when Arizona leads or participates in group examinations.

• Extensive knowledge of the NAIC Risk Focused Examination process.
• Knowledge of AZ and national insurance market, industry concepts, and insurer operations.
• Understanding of Statutory Accounting concepts.

Responsibilities

• Monitor progress and quality of examinations; supervise staff and contractors.
• Review and recommend scope of examinations and approve budgets.
• Coordinate with states and stakeholders throughout the examination process.
• Prepare and present reports of Financial Examination to file with the Director.
