About the Role Our client, a global industrial technology company, is seeking an experienced Lead Financial Analyst to provide strategic financial leadership and support across technology-focused business organizations. The company develops technology solutions serving industries including construction, agriculture, and geospatial markets.
In this role, you will lead financial planning and analysis activities, evaluate operational performance, support month-end close, and provide financial insights that help business leaders make informed decisions.
The ideal candidate brings strong FP&A experience, advanced Excel and Google Sheets capabilities, and the ability to translate complex financial information into clear recommendations for stakeholders.
Job Description
- Lead the development and refinement of operational metrics and KPI reporting to support strategic decision-making and business performance.
- Manage financial planning, forecasting, and actuals analysis across multiple quarters.
- Review forecast versus actual results and update forecasts based on business performance and changing assumptions.
- Provide financial analysis and recommendations to help optimize resource allocation and business planning.
- Support and supervise month-end close activities, including reviewing financial results and key journal entries and recommending corrective actions as needed.
- Identify and implement improvements to financial systems, forecasting processes, reporting workflows, and other operational processes.
- Partner with business and technology leaders to provide proactive financial analysis and strategic guidance.
- Establish financial governance and help business leaders maintain accountability for financial targets.
- Maintain appropriate oversight of financial controls and SOX compliance.
- Perform financial modeling, scenario analysis, and root-cause analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
- Translate complex financial data into clear, actionable insights for leadership and other stakeholders.
- Support improvements to business intelligence tools, dashboards, and automated financial reporting.
Qualifications Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related quantitative or business field.
- 5–8+ years of progressive experience in corporate finance, FP&A, or a comparable financial analysis role.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets, including complex formulas, financial modeling, scenario planning, and data integration.
- Strong experience with month-end close, including reviewing financial results and key journal entries and recommending corrective actions as needed.
- Experience performing forecast vs. actual analysis, variance analysis, and updating financial forecasts based on business results.
- Strong knowledge of financial planning and analysis (FP&A), budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling.
- Experience developing and analyzing KPIs and operational reporting to support business decision-making.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills, including root-cause analysis.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate complex financial information into clear, actionable insights for leadership.
- Demonstrated ability to partner cross-functionally with business leaders and stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree or relevant professional certification.
- Experience supporting technology-focused organizations, including enterprise software, engineering, IT infrastructure, or complex business systems.
- Experience with business intelligence and data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Domo.
- Experience developing or scaling automated financial reporting processes and enterprise dashboards.
- Experience supporting process improvement or financial systems transformation initiatives.
- Knowledge of SOX controls and financial governance processes.
