Job Description Summary

This role is with ERAC, Employers Reassurance Corporation, a corporate holding of GE Aerospace. We are a reinsurance company supporting long-term care insurance, structured settlements, life insurance, and other insurance products. Responsible for driving US GAAP and Statutory accounting compliance, financial and operational internal controls, process simplification, and operational excellence to deliver accurate financial reporting and analysis. In-depth understanding of key business drivers; uses this understanding to accomplish own work. Understands how the work of own team integrates with others and contributes to the area.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

• Responsible for preparing quarterly and annual Statutory Accounting Practices (SAP) and GAAP financial statements, including analysis, schedules, and disclosures.
• Prepare periodic NAIC financial statement schedules, exhibits, and other regulatory filings.
• Prepare account reconciliations for GAAP and STAT accounting bases.
• Prepare routine monthly/quarterly journal entries.
• Develop in-depth knowledge of the discipline. Use prior experience and expertise to execute policies and strategies.
• Support internal and external audits.
• Communicate with colleagues and the business regarding services rendered. Provide informal guidance to new team members. Explain complex information clearly.
• Impact projects, processes, and procedures within own field. Operate with some autonomy, focusing on activity execution and advice within standard practices. Use professional judgment and technical expertise to solve problems.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance from an accredited university or college.
• At least 2 years of experience in financial services.

Desired Characteristics

• Ability to analyze and resolve problems.
• Skills in documenting, planning, and executing programs. Project management experience is a plus.
• Public accounting experience is advantageous.
• Experience in insurance or financial services industry preferred.
