Job Description Summary

This role is with ERAC, Employers Reassurance Corporation, a corporate holding of GE Aerospace. We are a reinsurance company supporting long-term care insurance, structured settlements, life insurance, and other insurance products. The role involves driving US GAAP and Statutory accounting compliance, financial and operational internal controls, process simplification, and operational excellence to ensure accurate financial reporting and analysis. It requires an in-depth understanding of key business drivers and how the work of your team integrates with other teams.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

• Prepare quarterly and annual Statutory Accounting Practices (SAP) and GAAP financial statements, including detailed analysis, schedules, and disclosures.
• Prepare NAIC financial statement schedules, exhibits, and regulatory filings.
• Prepare account reconciliations for GAAP and STAT accounting bases.
• Prepare routine monthly/quarterly journal entries.
• Develop in-depth knowledge of the discipline, using experience and expertise to execute policies and strategies.
• Support internal and external audits.
• Communicate effectively with colleagues and the business, providing informal guidance to new team members and explaining complex information clearly.
• Impact projects, processes, and procedures within your field, operating with some autonomy under standard practices, using professional judgment and technical expertise to solve problems.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance from an accredited university or college.
• At least 2 years of experience in financial services.

Desired Characteristics

• Ability to analyze and resolve problems effectively.
• Skills in documenting, planning, marketing, and executing programs, with established project management capabilities.
• Public accounting experience is a plus.
• Experience in the insurance or financial services industry is preferred.
