Job Description Summary

This role is with ERAC, Employers Reassurance Corporation, a corporate holding of GE Aerospace. We support long-term care insurance, structured settlements, life insurance, and other insurance products. The role involves driving US GAAP and Statutory accounting compliance, financial and operational internal controls, process simplification, and operational excellence to ensure accurate financial reporting and analysis. The candidate should have an in-depth understanding of key business drivers and how their work integrates with other teams.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

1. Prepare quarterly and annual Statutory Accounting Practices (SAP) and GAAP financial statements, including detailed analysis, schedules, and disclosures.
2. Prepare NAIC financial statement schedules and exhibits, and other regulatory filings.
3. Prepare account reconciliations for GAAP and STAT accounting bases.
4. Prepare routine monthly/quarterly journal entries.
5. Develop in-depth knowledge of the discipline, using experience and expertise to execute policies and strategies.
6. Support internal and external audits.
7. Communicate effectively with colleagues and the business, providing guidance to new team members and explaining complex information clearly.
8. Impact projects, processes, and procedures within the field, operating with some autonomy and applying professional judgment.
9. Use technical expertise and judgment to solve problems, leveraging multiple internal sources to inform decisions.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance from an accredited institution.
• At least 2 years of experience in financial services.

Desired Characteristics

• Ability to analyze and resolve problems.
• Skills in documenting, planning, and executing programs; project management experience preferred.
• Public accounting experience is a plus.
• Experience in the insurance or financial services industry is preferred.
