Job summary

Hitachi Energy is seeking a seasoned field service professional to lead transformer projects, conduct advanced electrical testing, and act as the primary technical advisor for customers. This role requires extensive travel up to 85% and supervision of field teams across diverse environments.

Ideal candidates have a strong background in transformer installation, vacuum/oil processing, and high-voltage safety, with proven leadership and problem-solving skills to ensure reliable grid infrastructure

Qualifications

Associate degree/ two-year technical diploma with 10+ transformer service years; or HS diploma with 12+ transformer service years.
Knowledge of transformer field service operations and electrical testing procedures.
Experience supervising transformer service teams (3+ years).

Responsibilities

Lead technical crews of 2-8+ specialists through transformer installation and maintenance projects.
Execute electrical testing including power factor analysis, winding resistance, and SFRA diagnostics.
Serve as primary customer liaison and technical advisor during critical field operations.
Optimize project workflows by assigning tasks based on team strengths and site conditions.
Manage high-voltage equipment from distribution transformers to transmission-level apparatus.
Conduct preventive maintenance and emergency repairs on power infrastructure.
Collaborate with engineering teams to resolve technical challenges and implement solutions.
Mentor junior technicians and promote safety excellence across operations.
Ensure compliance with external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.
