Job summary

Smart Tech Contracting is seeking a Lead Field Technician – Critical Infrastructure to lead field execution on hyperscale data center projects. You will coordinate across electrical, mechanical, automation, controls, and commissioning teams to ensure on-time, safe delivery and quality adherence.

This senior role requires 6–8 years in mission-critical construction, strong leadership, and excellent communication with site leadership and subcontractors.

Qualifications

• 6–8 years of field execution experience in mission-critical, hyperscale, or complex MEP construction environments.
• Experience directing field crews and coordinating subcontractors.
• Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, submittals, and schedules.
• Working knowledge of OSHA, NFPA 70E, and high-risk construction activities.
• Strong communication across trades and escalation when needed.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day field execution for assigned scopes, zones, or workstreams.
• Direct field labor and coordinate subcontractors and trade partners within assigned areas.
• Coordinate daily activities across trades including electrical, mechanical, automation, controls, networking, and commissioning.
• Participate in daily coordination meetings, site walks, and trade alignment discussions.
• Resolve routine field conflicts and upscale complex issues to the Site Superintendent.
