Job summary

Smart Tech Contracting is seeking a Lead Field Technician – Critical Infrastructure to lead field execution on hyperscale data center projects from 40 MW to 200 MW.

Relocation to multiple US locations; duties include directing field crews, coordinating trades, and ensuring safety, QA/QC, and on-time delivery.

Requires 6–8 years in mission-critical construction; strong drawing interpretation and Procore/BIM 360 experience; competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• 6–8 years of field execution experience in mission-critical or hyperscale construction.
• Experience directing field crews and coordinating subcontractors.
• Strong understanding of construction sequencing, safety, and quality control.
• Ability to interpret drawings, specs, submittals, and schedules.
• Proven ability to coordinate across trades and elevate risks.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day field execution for assigned scopes.
• Direct field labor and coordinate subcontractors and trade partners.
• Coordinate activities across electrical, mechanical, automation, and commissioning.
• Participate in daily coordination meetings and site walks.
• Resolve field conflicts and escalate complex issues.
• Provide clear daily updates to the Site Superintendent.
• Prepare field reports and site documentation.
• Ensure work is safe, on schedule, and within budget.
