Position Title: Lead Field Technician
Location: Pottstown, PA Traveling Position
Position Type: Hourly, Full-Time

Job Summary:
We are looking for a Lead Field Technician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will assist the site Foreman with overseeing the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of industrial systems and equipment on client sites. As a leader and mentor, you will support and guide a team of technicians, ensuring all projects are completed on time, safely, and to the highest standards. You will need a strong technical background in welding, repair, maintenance, and fabrication, as well as experience with heavy industrial machinery. This is a highly mobile position, requiring approximately 75% travel to project sites across the United States, and potentially abroad.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Lead & Supervise Team: Mentor and provide technical guidance to field technicians, ensuring efficiency, safety, and high-quality execution on all projects.
  2. Installation & Maintenance: Oversee and participate in the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of equipment and systems according to client specifications and industry standards.
  3. Technical Support: Collaborate with the Foreman to address on-site technical challenges, ensuring timely and effective solutions.
  4. Project Coordination: Work closely with Foremen and Project Managers to coordinate schedules, resources, and materials for on-time project completion.
  5. Quality Control: Perform regular quality checks to ensure all installations comply with safety, performance, and regulatory standards.
  6. Customer Relations: Communicate directly with clients to understand their needs, provide updates, and resolve concerns throughout the project lifecycle.
  7. Safety & Compliance: Enforce safety protocols and ensure adherence to company policies, industry regulations, and legal requirements.
  8. Inventory Management: Oversee the management of tools, equipment, and materials on-site, ensuring proper maintenance and inventory control.
  9. Process Improvement: Provide feedback on operational processes, equipment, and technology to enhance efficiency and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications:

  1. Education: High school diploma or equivalent (Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field is a plus).
  2. Experience: Minimum of 3 years as a field technician, with at least 1 year in a leadership or supervisory role.
  3. Technical Expertise: In-depth knowledge of industrial equipment, including conveyor systems, pumps, motors, and other heavy machinery.
  4. Certifications: Relevant certifications (e.g., OSHA, electrical, millwright) are preferred.
  5. Leadership Skills: Proven experience mentoring technicians, ensuring safety, and fostering productivity in the field.
  6. Problem-Solving: Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities, with a customer-centric approach.
  7. Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with project teams and clients.
  8. Physical Demands: Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, climbing, and working in diverse environmental conditions.
  9. Travel Requirements: Willingness to travel up to 75% for projects across the U.S. and potentially abroad.
  10. Other Skills: Ability to work well under pressure, meet deadlines, and demonstrate exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
