Soltesz in Waldorf, Maryland is seeking an experienced Land Survey Crew Chief to lead field crews on civil engineering and land development projects within the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area.

The role requires guiding survey technicians, managing field activities, and ensuring accurate data collection with modern equipment. You will report to the Director of Surveys and coordinate with the Field Coordinator, while maintaining safety standards and company procedures.

Qualifikationen

• At least five years of experience on a survey field crew.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Proficiency in trigonometry and basic surveying computations.
• Experience operating total stations, data collectors, GPS equipment, and related software.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Valid driver’s license.

Aufgaben

• Provide technical support to the Director of Surveys and Field Coordinator.
• Lead day-to-day guidance to survey field technicians.
• Direct smaller projects under the supervision of the Director of Surveys.
• Perform field surveys per company standards and state requirements.
• Promote safety by enforcing procedures and PPE.
• Oversee crew vehicle and survey equipment maintenance.
• Direct equipment use, field sketches, notes, and data collection.
• Supervise daily downloading of data collector information.
• Prepare daily logs, topographic and staking reports, and field change orders.
