Job summary

Alta Environmental & Infrastructure is seeking a Survey Party Chief / Crew Chief to lead field survey crews on construction, topographic, and control surveys across Arizona. You will ensure data accuracy, oversee equipment, and train junior crew members in modern methods.

You will operate GPS and traditional survey tools, maintain meticulous field records, and collaborate with project managers to deliver reliable maps and records.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; coursework in surveying/engineering preferred.
• Proficiency with GPS and total station surveying equipment.
• Experience in data collection, field mapping, and data management.

Responsibilities

• Lead field survey crew for construction, topographic, right‑of‑way, and control projects.
• Gather field data using conventional and GPS methods with total stations and data collectors.
• Maintain field data records, project files, and indexing systems.
• Train and mentor crew members on surveying techniques and new equipment.
• Oversee maintenance and inventory of survey equipment and field gear.
• Proactively seek new methods and technologies for efficient surveying.
