Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Survey Party Chief to supervise field crews and perform boundary, topographic, construction, ALTA/NSPS surveys. Travel is required across field sites.

You will operate surveying instruments (total stations, GPS/GNSS), maintain field notes, review data, and coordinate with project managers to keep schedules and budgets on track. A valid US driver's license and willingness to travel are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma with 4+ years of related experience.
• Experience with surveying principles and field procedures.
• Experience with robotic total stations, GPS/GNSS, data collectors, and digital levels.
• Ability to read construction plans and survey documents.
• Valid U.S. driver's license and ability to pass MVR check.
• U.S. citizenship required.
• Must travel frequently to field locations.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise a field survey crew.
• Perform boundary, topographic, construction, ALTA/NSPS surveys.
• Set up and troubleshoot surveying instruments.
• Collect field measurements and site information.
• Identify corners, utilities, structures and features.
• Review plats, deeds, plans and specifications.
• Maintain field notes and survey documentation.
• Coordinate with project managers and clients.
• Ensure safety procedures are followed.
• Mentor junior crew members and manage daily field activities.
