Job summary

Colliers Engineering & Design is seeking an energetic Crew Chief to lead field survey activities in Hamilton, OH. This role focuses on planning, executing, and overseeing surveys with advanced instruments and accurate data collection.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in field survey, 2+ years as Crew Chief, and proficiency with data collectors, robotic instruments, total stations, and 3D scanners. Travel and a valid driver's license are required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years field survey experience, 2+ years as Crew Chief.
• Proficient with data collectors, data collection techniques, robotic instruments, conventional field note-keeping, total stations and leveling.
• Civil surveying and construction staking experience required.
• Experience with or ability to learn 3D scanners.
• Self-starter with minimal supervision, able to work in inclement weather and willing to travel.

Responsibilities

• Plan and perform advanced field surveys within project scope and budget.
• Interact with project site supervisors and client field representatives.
• Prepare accurate, detailed field notes and daily activity reports.
• Perform in-field calculations for stakeout and land surveys with limited support.
• Review safety checklists and instruct crew on hazards and PPE.
• Maintain and operate survey instruments and equipment.
• Operate survey vehicle per company policies.
• Mentor and train junior field staff.
