Job summary

Pennoni is seeking an experienced Survey Party Chief to join our field surveying operations in the Hampton Roads, VA area. You will be responsible for the daily operation of a survey crew on a wide range of land surveying projects including geodetic, boundary, topographic, and construction staking.

The role requires 8–12 years in commercial construction surveying, field work capability, solid math skills, and experience managing field staff.

Qualifications

• 8–12 years of experience in commercial construction surveying.
• High School Diploma.
• Capable of field work which may include heavy manual labor.
• Logical mindset.
• Adaptive understanding of problems.
• Experienced in field staff management.
• Solid math skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage field crew in normal survey field operations for construction, property surveys and design surveys.
• Coordinate field layout for buildings and sites.
• QA/QC site control and layout information from the office.
• Read and understand construction plans and property plats.
• Manipulate digital cut sheets and point data in files.
• Oversee field instrument operations.
• Client communication on job sites.
• Manage use of field data controller and file transfers.
