Job summary

Terracon is seeking a Construction Inspector to perform inspections across multiple disciplines, including structural steel, concrete, and soils, ensuring compliance with plans and codes. The role involves field testing, reporting, and collaboration with engineers and project managers on-site.

Candidates should have 4–6 years of inspection experience, relevant NICET/ICC/AWS/ASNT/ACI certifications, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.
Associates degree in Civil Engineering Technology or Construction Engineering Technology preferred.
Minimum 4-6 years’ experience in construction inspection.
A valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history may be required.
Successful completion of related internal safety certifications.
At least four or more certifications in NICET, ICC, AWS, ASNT, ACI or related areas.

Responsibilities

Perform testing, observation, and inspection to ensure work meets contract specifications.
Read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
Prepare inspection reports and document nonconformance.
Communicate findings to Project Manager and collaborate on solutions.
Lead and coordinate activities of lower level inspectors when required.
Maintain equipment operation and calibration and ensure safety standards are followed.
