Job Description Summary

GE Vernova’s Power Conversion & Storage business combines advanced energy conversion and storage systems to meet the electrification needs of utilities and industries. Job Responsibilities

• Perform installation and commissioning activities at customer site locations during ship construction. Capable of working unsupervised and leading small teams.
• Diagnose problems and implement corrective actions during troubleshooting at site locations during scheduled port visits or at sea.
• Ensure technical integrity and proper installation and commissioning of GE Power systems and control systems.
• Develop presentations and provide training to customers on system operations.
• Advise customers on upgrades, parts, and service opportunities to improve productivity and promote GE parts and services.
• Support proper commissioning and customer satisfaction through related engineering tasks.
• Provide on-call support for customer service calls.
• Work onboard vessels within safety guidelines in shipyards or offshore.
• Extended hours/overtime during peak periods and emergencies.
• Travel domestically or overseas to customer sites for extended periods.

Minimum Qualifications

• At least 5 years of field service and/or commissioning experience with power systems in a marine environment.

Eligibility Requirements

• US Citizen able to obtain security clearance for DoD projects.
• Willing to travel up to 85% on short notice.
• Physically fit to board offshore vessels.
• Able to pass HUET and offshore survival courses.

Desired Characteristics

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field, or Associate's Degree with additional experience.
• Knowledge of switchgear, circuit breakers, sensing instruments, transformers, MCCs, VFDs, transfer switches, protection relays, power quality meters, AVR, governors, synchronizers, load sharing systems, and engineering skills for complex assignments.
