Job summary

Bechtel Corporation in Clay, NY seeks a Field Engineer (Drilled Piers) for the Micron Project. You will provide technical support to Bechtel and subcontractor field supervision, ensuring installations meet design requirements and construction schedules.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Construction Management from an accredited university with 1–2 years of relevant work experience, or 5–6 years without a degree.
• Strong knowledge of civil engineering and construction methods.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections and initiate documentation for all discipline system installations on an ongoing basis.
• Provide support to field supervision in establishing manpower, tools, equipment, and material requirements for a given work evolution
• Develop installation work packages for scopes of work in support of the construction schedule
• Prepare short- and long-term schedules, and interface with superintendents and other discipline field engineers
• Execute field material takeoffs from Issued For Construction drawings
• Provide input to the quantity tracking applications and report weekly installed quantities to Project Controls
• Prepare field material requisitions for equipment and materials, and monitor status of purchase orders and deliveries
• Assist field procurement in receipt inspection and reporting of equipment/materials and preventive maintenance requirements
• Troubleshoot the design and resolve issues with engineering or fabricator using field documentation processes
• Ensure all installations are per latest revisions of design drawings, specifications, standards and codes
• Complete and verify quality documentation per inspection and test plans
• Complete and review as-built documentation
• Monitor actual work performance against project budget and schedule
• Provide day-to-day direction and coaching to direct reports
