Job summary
Thermo Systems LLC in Mansfield, Texas is seeking a Control System Technician to support and coordinate field activities on control system projects and service teams.
You will travel to client locations for installations, maintenance or repairs, perform startup, testing, FATs, and work with HMI/PLC applications, AVEVA platforms preferred. The role requires an Associate degree and about 2 years of experience, with strong communication and independent work ethic.
Qualifications
- Associate degree or equivalent in engineering technology or related field.
- Typically 2 years industry experience in control systems.
Responsibilities
- Assist and lead installation, startup and commissioning of control systems.
- Perform instrument loop checks, calibrations, and routine maintenance.
- Lead FATs for instruments and control panels and document work.
- Support HMI and PLC startup and troubleshooting.
- Read P&ID and wiring diagrams and follow QMS procedures.

Provides technical support and field coordination to control system projects and service teams Listens takes direction and seeks guidance from the assigned project leads supervisors and company leadership Travel to client locations for installations maintenance or repairs of control systems
Associate in Applied Science or Associate in Science in Engineering Technology Computer Information Systems Technology relevant curriculum or experienceTypically 2 years industry experience
2 years as Control System Technician or equivalentAVEVA System Platform andor Operations Management Interface experience strongly preferredExperience with AVEVA Historian and related AVEVA technologies is a plus
- Technical Responsibilities Assist and be self sufficient in project installation start up and commissioning of control systems
- Perform instrument loop checks and calibrations
- Perform maintenance troubleshooting and repair of control systems
- Lead and perform Factory Acceptance Tests FATWire instruments and control panels
- Demonstrate basic understanding of Human Machine Interface HMI and Programmable Logic Controller PLC applications
- Proficient with startup and troubleshooting of Human Machine Interface HMI applications
- Proficient with startup and troubleshooting of Programmable Logic Controller PLC applications
- Read and interpret piping & instrumentation diagrams and wiring diagrams
- Practice procedures outlined in the companys Quality Management System QMS
- Accurately document work performed
- Demonstrate basic understanding of control system design
- Demonstrate basic understanding of electrical and mechanical system design
- Demonstrate basic understanding of Information Technology IT system network infrastructure and computer system design as it relates to control system integration
- Seek accredited control systems certifications and training opportunities
- Communicate in an effective positive and proactive manner with customers
- Follow customer specific site standards and procedures
- Always conduct business in professional manner
- Provide excellent customer care and support
- Be patient attentive and responsive to customers in solving their problems
- Always follow up and honor commitments with customers

Travel required 100 overnight travel
On call rotation participation may be required based on location and client needs
