Job summary

Thermo Systems LLC is seeking a Control System Technician to support field installations, startup, maintenance and FAT for client control systems across multiple locations. The role requires hands-on experience with instrument loops, wiring, and PLC/HMI applications. Travel to client sites is up to 100%.

This position emphasizes teamwork, safety, and adherence to project schedules. Ideal candidates have 2+ years of relevant experience and an Associate degree or equivalent in engineering

Qualifications

  • Associate degree or equivalent experience in engineering technology or related field.
  • 2+ years industry experience preferred.
  • Proven track record: 2+ years as Control System Technician or equivalent.

Responsibilities

  • Assist and be self-sufficient in project installation, start‑up and commissioning of control systems.
  • Perform instrument loop checks and calibrations.
  • Perform maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of control systems.
  • Lead and perform Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT).
  • Wire instruments and control panels.
  • Demonstrate understanding of HMI and PLC applications.
  • Read and interpret piping & instrumentation diagrams and wiring diagrams.
  • Document work performed and maintain QMS procedures.
  • Support IT system concepts related to control system integration.

Location: This position can be based in one of our locations below. In the application process, please indicate your preferred location. Henderson, NV, | Montgomery, AL | Red Oak, TX | Port Washington, WI | Mansfield, TX Term: Full Time | Direct Hire. Compensation: $70, 000 - $82,000 Annually + Bonus Eligibility. Travel: Up to 100%.



Job Summary

Provides technical support and field coordination to control system projects and service teams. Listens, takes direction, and seeks guidance from the assigned project leads, supervisors, and company leadership. Travel to client locations for installations, maintenance, or repairs of control systems.



Education and Experience


  • Associate in Applied Science or Associate in Science in Engineering Technology, Computer Information Systems Technology, relevant curriculum, or experience.

  • Typically, 2+ years industry experience.

  • Proven Track Record: 2+ years as Control System Technician or equivalent.



Duties and Responsibilities

Technical Responsibilities



  • Assist and be self-sufficient in project installation, start-up and commissioning of control systems.

  • Perform instrument loop checks and calibrations.

  • Perform maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of control systems.

  • Lead and perform Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT).

  • Wire instruments and control panels.

  • Demonstrate basic understanding of Human‑Machine Interface (HMI) and Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) applications.

  • Proficient with startup and troubleshooting of Human‑Machine Interface (HMI) applications.

  • Proficient with startup and troubleshooting of Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) applications.

  • Read and interpret piping & instrumentation diagrams and wiring diagrams.

  • Practice procedures outlined in the company’s Quality Management System (QMS).

  • Accurately document work performed.

  • Demonstrate basic understanding of control system design.

  • Demonstrate basic understanding of electrical and mechanical system design.

  • Demonstrate basic understanding of Information Technology (IT) system, network infrastructure, and computer system design, as it relates to control system integration.

  • Seek accredited control systems certifications and training opportunities.
