Qualifications
- Candidate must have a high school diploma or GED with four years’ construction inspection or related experience.
- Alternate pathways include 6 months sub-professional engineering plus four years in inspection, or relevant college coursework, or a bachelor’s degree in engineering/tech.
- Engineer intern certificate is an acceptable qualification.
Responsibilities
- Lead, train, and review work of lower-level inspectors.
- Conduct field inspections and collect measurements for roadway/bridge projects.
- Guide inspection of concrete pavements and asphalt pavements.
- Implement materials sampling and density testing across project phases.
- Assign and schedule inspection activities to ensure contractor compliance.
- Review inspection reports and calculations for accuracy.
- Collaborate with contractors, utilities, and local officials to minimize disruptions.
