Job summary
S&W Contracting Co, LLC is seeking a Traffic Signal Fiber and Communications Technician Lead for ITS Installations in Murfreesboro, TN. Travel required; full-time position with competitive hourly pay and performance bonus.
You will install, test, and maintain fiber-optic networks for government projects, reading plans and specs to ensure high-quality field installations. Qualified candidates have 5+ years in fiber/ITS, a driver’s license, and readiness to work outdoors in active construction
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years in fiber optics, traffic signalization, ITS, telecommunications, or low-voltage systems.
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specs, and diagrams.
- Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
- Outdoor work in active construction zones.
Responsibilities
- Install, route, splice, and test fiber-optic cables and ITS infrastructure.
- Conduct fiber testing with OTDRs and power meters to ensure signal integrity.
- Troubleshoot outages and restore traffic infrastructure efficiently.
- Configure field connections for cameras, detection systems, and signs.
- Interpret plans and diagrams to complete precise field installs.
- Operate lifts and testing tools safely per work-zone protocols.
- Document field progress and report to Field Supervisor.
