Job summary

Sunbelt Rentals, Inc. seeks a Lead Fence Installer to head temporary fencing projects in the Columbus metro area. You’ll work shoulder-to-shoulder with your crew, on-site, and also drive non-CDL company trucks to transport equipment and personnel.

You’ll own the job site from setup to breakdown and coordinate with clients to ensure quality work on schedule. Ideal candidates bring hands-on leadership, a clean driving record, and comfort with hand and power tools.

Qualifications

• Hands-on leader able to work on-site with the crew.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean MVR for company vehicles.
• Able to perform heavy outdoor labor; lift 50–80 lbs.
• Comfortable with hand and power tools; forklift/1-ton truck experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead by example, work with installation crew to build, install, and tear down fencing per specs.
• Be main on-site contact, coordinate with clients, manage daily tasks, ensure on-time completion.
• Supervise, train, and mentor crew; promote site safety and conduct checks.
• Safely drive non-CDL vehicles to transport crew and equipment; secure loads to DOT standards.
• Complete daily reports, site checklists, and inventory logs.

Lead Fence Installer — Columbus, OH

Are you a hands‑on leader who isn't afraid to roll up your sleeves, work alongside your team, and take ownership of a job site? Sunbelt Rentals is looking for a Lead Fence Installer to lead temporary fencing setup and breakdown projects across the Columbus metro area. In this role, you aren’t just sitting in a truck delegating—you’re out on the field working shoulder‑to‑shoulder with your crew while serving as the primary lead on the job site. You’ll also take the wheel of our non‑CDL company trucks to safely haul equipment, fencing materials, and your team to and from jobsites.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead by Example: Work alongside your installation crew to safely build, install, and tear down temporary fencing and barricades according to project specs.
• Job Site Ownership: Serve as the main point of contact on‑site, coordinate with clients, manage daily tasks, and ensure high‑quality, on‑time completion.
• Crew Management & Safety: Supervise, train, and mentor crew members. Set a high bar for site safety, conduct site checklists, and feel empowered to call a \"Safety Time Out\" whenever necessary.
• Drive & Logistics: Safely operate non‑CDL company vehicles (such as 1‑ton trucks) to transport your crew, equipment, and materials, ensuring all loads are secured to DOT standards.
• Documentation & Detail: Complete daily job reports, site checklists, and inventory logs accurately.

What We’re Looking For

• Hands‑On Leadership: Proven ability to motivate a team, manage site workflow, and lead under tight deadlines.
• Driving Record: Valid driver’s license with a clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) suitable to clear background checks for operating company vehicles.
• Physical Stamina: Ability to perform heavy physical labor outdoors in various weather conditions, including lifting and carrying fence panels (approx. 50–80 lbs).
• Technical Skills: Comfortable using hand and power tools (drills, post drivers, power washers, banding equipment). Forklift or 1‑ton truck experience is a strong plus!
• Reliability: Own reliable transportation to report to the Columbus, OH branch.

Base Pay Range: $21.38 - 30.72

Starting rate of pay may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, position offered, location, education, training, and/or experience.
