Job summary

Devon County Council is recruiting Family Practitioners to join the North and Mid Family Intervention Team in Devon. Two full-time and one part-time posts are available, based at Taw View Barnstaple.

You will support children, young people and families with complex needs, delivering intensive, strengths-based interventions within a whole-family approach. The role involves coordinating multi-agency support, completing family assessments, and developing intervention plans to improve outcomes and

Qualifications

• Holds a relevant Level 3 qualification (or equivalent experience) in a related field such as social care, education, youth work, or health.
• Has a full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (subject to Equality Act considerations).
• Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Work directly with children, young people, and families experiencing multiple and complex challenges.
• Provide practical, strengths-based interventions to support positive change.
• Act as a Lead Practitioner, coordinating support through Team Around the Family meetings and multi-agency partnerships.
• Complete restorative family assessments and develop family-led intervention plans.
