Job description

Duties
  • Direct regional maintenance strategies using Facility Equipment Maintenance (FEM) and Operational Condition Assessment (OCA) systems.
  • Enforce data quality standards and establish Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for maintenance workflow.
  • Distribute workloads, set priorities, and establish deadlines to ensure timely team deliverables.
  • Represent the team as primary liaison to resolve conflicts and negotiate with agency management.
  • Diagnose systemic FEM data discrepancies and implement corrective operational workflows.
  • Formulate technical solutions for complex facility deficiencies and present findings to leadership.
  • Evaluate and authorize IT/software solutions to automate and optimize field operations.

Specialized Experience Requirement:

One year of specialized experience which includes at least two of the following: 1) leading, scheduling, or distributing work for a team executing facility operations or maintenance projects; OR 2) managing data within a computerized maintenance database to plan maintenance or audit data quality; OR 3) formulating or justifying operations and maintenance budgets, such as drafting cost-benefit analyses for facility upgrades. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).

Time in Grade Requirement:

Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent. For the GS-12 you must have 52 weeks at the GS-11 level.

With regards to time-in-grade validation, if you held a position other than a GS pay plan, be sure your resume includes the pay plan and the salary you earned during the assignment. Without this information, your time-in-grade validation may not be able to be verified and will result in your not meeting the time-grade requirement for this vacancy.
