Job summary

Socket.dev in Idaho Falls is seeking a Lead Facility Engineer to guide engineering, facility management, operations, and maintenance teams. You will apply knowledge and leadership to configure facility systems, specify maintenance, monitor performance, and develop the facility's engineering strategy.

This role requires Level 4/5 qualifications with ABET-accredited engineering degrees and substantial experience; DOE L qualification is required.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited engineering degree required with specified experience levels: Level 4: 9 years; Level 5: 14 years.
• Master’s degree with 6–8+ years; PhD with 4–6+ years depending on level.
• Must be able to obtain MFC Lead Facility Engineer Qualification and DOE L clearance.

Responsibilities Include:

The Lead Facility Engineer applies knowledge, practices, technique and experience in a leadership role working with engineering, facility management, operations, maintenance, and programmatic personnel for the following:

• Manage facility system configurations


• Specification of system equipment maintenance


• Monitor equipment and systems performance


• Develop engineering strategy for the facility


• Identify and prioritize issues for the Facility Health Committee (FHC)


• Failure analysis


• Modification Design

• Engineering Leadership

Required:

• Level 4: Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET accredited program and 9 years' experience, or a Master’s in an engineering discipline and 6 years' experience, or a PhD in an engineering discipline and 4 years' experience.


• Level 5: Bachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET accredited program and 14 years of experience. Master's and 8 years' experience. PhD and 6 years of experience.
