Job summary

The Cigna Group in Massachusetts seeks a Lead Facilities Engineer to oversee the care and maintenance of building systems at our Newburyport pharmacy fulfillment site and to lead a facilities team across Marlborough and Waltham locations.

You will ensure regulatory compliance, manage vendor partnerships, support audits, and partner with operations and finance on budgeting and safety initiatives. Strong HVAC/refrigeration knowledge and leadership skills are required.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or technical field required.
• 6+ years of related experience.
• Strong HVAC and refrigeration knowledge.
• Universal CFC certification required.
• Read and understand technical plans and documents.
• Valid driver’s license.
• OSHA 30 certification (or ability to obtain within 12 months).
• Proficient in MS Office Suite.
• Experience with BMS and CMMS systems.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to stand, walk, climb and lift 50 pounds.
• Schedule: 8:00am – 4:30pm; on-site at multiple MA locations.

Responsibilities

• Oversee repairs and maintenance for all building systems, equipment, and grounds.
• Ensure the site meets Board of Pharmacy and other regulatory standards.
• Lead, support, and develop a team of Facility Management Technicians.
• Complete preventative and corrective maintenance work.
• Lead the response and resolution of facility emergencies to minimize disruptions.
• Ensure work orders are completed on time and within SLAs.
• Manage vendor and contractor partnerships, including scheduling and oversight.
• Partner with Finance on budgeting, planning, and upgrading equipment.
• Advance safety, environmental, and compliance standards across the site.
• Support risk management and change control processes to enable safe operations.
• Prepare for audits and maintain documentation.
• Deliver strong customer services to internal teams and external partners.

You’ll manage a skilled facilities team and partner closely with operations, workplace services, and site leaders to create a safe, reliable, and compliant environment.

• 6+ years of related experience
• Strong HVAC and refrigeration knowledge

• Valid driver’s license
• OSHA 30 certification (or the ability to obtain within 12 months)
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel)
• Experience with BMS and CMMS systems
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Ability to stand, walk, climb, and perform physical tasks
• Ability to lift 50 pounds or more
• Schedule: 8:00am – 4:30pm, flexibility as needed
• On-call and ability to work at Waltham and Marlborough locations is required

If you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload. For this position, we anticipate offering an annual salary of 80,600 - 134,400 USD / yearly, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.

This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan.
