Job summary

Humboldt County, Nevada is seeking a Maintenance Worker II to perform a variety of standard building and facility maintenance tasks in County buildings and adjacent grounds. The role includes minor repairs, vendor oversight, and on-call duties to ensure facilities operate safely and efficiently.

The position requires knowledge of mechanical, electrical, HVAC and carpentry systems, with two years of skilled experience and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required or equivalent training.
• 2 years of skilled experience in installation, maintenance, and repair of building operating systems and facilities.
• Able to read and interpret blueprints and schematics.
• Ability to pass sheriff's office background check and OSHA 10-hour certification within 15 days.

Responsibilities

• Participates in design, layout and planning of remodeling, repair or modification projects for County buildings and facilities.
• Estimates materials and prepares cost estimates; orders materials as needed.
• Performs skilled and semi-skilled maintenance of mechanical, electrical, HVAC and related systems.
• Inspects equipment and troubleshoots problems; supervises contracts and work of vendors as required.
• Maintains records of work performed and assists in safety and team activities.
