Job summary

Express Employment Professionals is seeking an experienced Lead Fabricator for a manufacturing client in Edwardsburg, MI. This role leads a small welding team, performs MIG welding on galvanized steel and other sheet metal, and ensures quality and timely fabrication of custom components.

• Previous experience welding galvanized steel.
• Minimum of 3 years of MIG welding and metal fabrication experience.
• Previous Lead Welder or team leadership experience preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and fabrication drawings.
• Strong understanding of fabrication processes, measuring tools, and welding techniques.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods during the shift.
• Dependable with a strong work ethic and positive attitude.

Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality MIG welding on galvanized steel and other sheet metal materials.
• Read and interpret blueprints, fabrication drawings, and work orders.
• Lead daily welding activities while promoting quality, safety, and efficiency.
• Fabricate, fit, and assemble custom metal components to precise specifications.
• Inspect completed welds to ensure they meet quality and customer standards.
• Assist with layout, measuring, grinding, and finishing fabricated parts.
• Support and mentor other welders by sharing best practices and maintaining production standards.
• Work closely with production and engineering teams to complete projects on schedule.
• Maintain welding equipment and keep the work area clean, organized, and safe.

Express Employment Professionals is seeking an experienced Lead Fabricator for one of our manufacturing clients in the Edwardsburg area. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled professional who enjoys hands‑on fabrication, takes pride in producing quality work, and can help lead a team in.

Our client specializes in the custom fabrication of sheet metal products used in industrial ventilation and air moving systems. The ideal candidate will have strong fabrication skills, leadership experience, and hands‑on experience welding and fabricatinggalvanized and carbon steel as well as aluminum.

What You'll Do
