Job summary

ClearSight LASIK & Lens in Plano, TX is seeking an experienced Lead Surgical Technician to guide our surgical team and ensure safe, efficient procedures. This hands-on leadership role works with the Center Director and Surgical Operations Manager to coordinate daily activities, mentor staff, and uphold our high clinical standards.

The ideal candidate has a current Surgical Technician certification, a track record leading teams, and excellent communication skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current Surgical Technician certification.
• Proven Successful Lead Position.
• Prior experience working as a Surgical Technician.
• Proven leadership ability and mentoring or developing others.
• Strong knowledge of surgical operations and procedures.
• Ability to manage daily schedules, delegate effectively, and hold team members accountable.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to remain calm in fast-paced environments.
• Proficiency with EMR systems and daily chart management.
• Strong computer and organizational skills.
• Ability to meet required certifications within designated timeframes.
• Maintain OSHA, HIPAA, and CPR training/certifications.
• Commit to full-time work five days a week and on-call rotation.
• Willingness to travel to other ClearSight locations as needed.

Responsibilities

• Assist surgeons and surgical team members throughout the procedural day.
• Coordinate daily surgical workflow, technician assignments, and team coverage.
• Review the daily schedule and delegate responsibilities for efficiency.
• Collaborate with Center Director, Surgical Operations Manager and Director of Surgical and Clinical Services to meet KPIs.
• Ensure OR and Laser Vision Correction areas are stocked with supplies and sterile instruments.
• Communicate supply, implant, and medication needs to leadership.
• Support safe, efficient patient care by following policies and procedures.
• Communicate clearly and professionally with surgeons, team members, and administration.
• Provide calm, direct leadership during tie-sensitive or emergent situations.
• Train, mentor, and motivate team members; participate in training.
• Stay current on surgical practices, policies, trainings, and standards.
• Step into other surgical team positions when needed.
• Be willing to scrub in and help as required.
• Travel to other locations for training, meetings, or collaboration.
